While sports are recognized as an important step as part of the body’s physical activity, many do not take proper care of their bodies when engaging in such activity. With the different kinds of sports injuries, chiropractic care is valuable as a method of preventing and treating sports injuries.

Tendinosis
There are a number of “overuse syndromes” where overuse of a particular joint or joints in the body results in one of these conditions. Tendinosis is a common injury where the tendon becomes inflamed from overuse. This condition is especially common in the forms of tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow.

Strains and Sprains
Strains and Sprains are two of the most common sports injuries. A strain refers to an acute twisting or overextension of a joint which can lead to tears of muscles and tendons. A sprain is like a strain, which is distinguishable as the same type of activity which leads to tears of ligaments.

Stress Fractures
A stress fracture occurs when an abnormal amount of stress is placed on a bone. Also called fatigue fracture, a stress fracture often occurs in runners who add a large amount of mileage to their training or when those who exercise overdo their training, especially in running.

Chiropractic Treatment
Your chiropractor will examine the best course of treatment for your sports injury. You will receive information on rest, ice or heat, compression, and elevation when these are applicable for your injury.

Also, recent research has demonstrated the effectiveness of joint manipulation in pain reduction and recovery rates. Your chiropractor will help you with all of these areas in efforts to help you recover. This is especially beneficial in light of medications, in which some anti-inflammatory drugs can slow the healing process. Chiropractic treatment will allow you to properly handle your sports injury.

Chiropractic Prevention
One huge benefit to having contact with a chiropractic care provider is in the prevention of sports injuries, in addition to other unrelated conditions. Chiropractic care is largely based on preventative medicine and the overall wellness of your body.

If you are participating in sports, having contact with your chiropractor can go a long way in preventing a sports injury. Your chiropractor will also be able to help you gear your training towards healthy habits and reasonable goals so that you won’t put your body in danger.

Contacting Your Chiropractic Care Provider
If you do not see a chiropractic care provider, you should consider this important step towards your body’s well-being. Whether you are suffering from a sports injury or are training currently (or prospectively), a chiropractor can help you safely recover or train.

Contact your chiropractor if you are suffering from a sports injury. Chiropractic care will enable you to safely treat the affected injury and to help prevent future injuries. If you do not currently see a chiropractor, you should consider this. Whether you have a strict or loose training regimen, see a chiropractor to help prevent sports injuries from occurring and to help with your training goals.

So you’ve made the decision to become part of the nearly 10% of the population that visits a chiropractor. While more than 50% of people surveyed have indicated that they would consider going to chiropractor for their health concern many still don’t because they’re not sure what to expect.

If you’re considering chiropractor care, here are three things you should ask the potential chiropractor:

1. Will my problem be helped with chiropractic care?

You don’t want to undergo a course of treatment if it’s not going to help anyway. No chiropractor should even consider accepting you as a patient unless you should expect to get results.

However, this question cannot realistically be answered over the phone. Some potential new patients will call the office and ask if the doctor can help with (insert your condition here).

A good answer might be “the doctor has successfully treated patients with that condition.” The best answer would be “the doctor won’t be able to answer whether or not your condition can be helped with chiropractic care until he has a chance to examine you.”

You wouldn’t expect a mechanic to diagnose your condition by saying it makes a “ping” noise. There are many things that can cause any symptom, and it’s up to the chiropractor to determine if your condition can be helped by his available treatments.

2. How much will my first visit cost?

While you really shouldn’t be bargain-hunting for your healthcare, you should feel comfortable knowing what you can expect from your first visit.

A bad answer is “we’ll see what your insurance will cover.” A better answer is “an examination is $80, and any additional costs like x-rays or treatment will be explained to you before you’re charged any further.”

Ahh… now you can relax. You know that by the time the doctor is done with your consultation and examination, you’ll know what’s wrong and if chiropractic can help.

It’s certainly no fun being in pain and wondering the whole time how much the bill is growing with every minute you’re spending with the doctor.

You can then make an educated decision about the types of treatment and the type of treatment program with which you feel most comfortable.

3. How late is the office open?

I know this questions seems pretty obvious, but since most people don’t understand the nature of chiropractic care (you may and likely will have to go more than once) this is an important consideration.

Your ability to be successful with your chiropractic are program is directly related to your ability to show up for your appointments. If the office hours aren’t convenient for you or maybe the office is just a bit too far for you to make your appointments consistently, you’ll have trouble getting the results you’re after.

A good chiropractor may be worth making some adjustments to your schedule, but making sure you can be consistent with your visits will make all the difference with your chiropractic experience.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This article was written by Dr. Gregg D. Rubinstein, a chiropractor at 57th Street Chiropractic in New York City, and represent his views on vaccination.

The majority of kids out there are given 5 vaccinations all at once. When a little kid gets all of these vaccines all at once, that is a pretty massive amount of drugs and a lot of foreign materials are introduced to the body at one time. That can cause some pretty significant reactions.

I inform my patients that if you choose to vaccinate your child, which you may or may not want to do, you need to do the research to find out what the vaccines contain and what the potential side effects are, and if there is a potential for your kids to develop autism. There is a lot of talk about this in the news, but there is not a lot of conclusive proof one way or the other. One side is saying that it does while the other side is saying that it does not. My personal opinion is to direct parents to where they can get the best information and make their own decisions. I would never tell a parent to vaccinate or not to vaccinate their child. That is not my place. I would advise them to look at the research out there. There is a place called the National Vaccine Information Center. There are plenty of local groups. But the parent needs to be informed and make a correct decision rather than just having whatever is popular done.

It’s not as issue I can make a verdict on conclusively. I cannot speak for every chiropractor and I know plenty of chiropractors who have had their kids vaccinated and I know quite a few that have not. But that’s a personal decision. It is not a chiropractor’s job to tell you to vaccinate your child or not to vaccinate your child. And any chiropractor who does, in my opinion, is a fool. But you can disseminate information and let them know where to get information and then let the parents make a decision for their children.

One final point: Remember the HPV vaccine that they started to develop for young girls? Well in Texas, the governor tried to make it mandatory and what they found out was he was incredibly far up the ass of the pharmaceutical company that was making that vaccine. So he was guaranteeing millions of dollars for the drug companies. You never know why people are pushing you one way or the other, so you have to educate yourself so you can make the best decision for your children.

The information in the article is not intended to substitute for the medical expertise and advice of your healthcare provider. We encourage you to discuss any decisions about treatment or care with an appropriate healthcare provider.

An increasing number of people the world over are turning to chiropractic care when it comes to addressing a wide range of ailments and disorders. While one might think that benefit through chiropractic care is limited to adults, this is far from the truth. There are numerous children who have benefited through chiropractic care, and the data actually speaks for itself.
Even in the early 90’s, close to 20 million children consulted chiropractors each year. Since then, this number has gone up considerably. Conditions that a chiropractor can address when it comes to children include ear, nose and throat infections; allergies; asthma; infantile colic; otitis media; cerebral palsy; headaches; back and neck aches; sleep disturbances; respiratory problems; etc.
Chiropractic care essentially involves manipulation of the spine, and requires to be practiced by someone who has the required skills, training, and experience, all the more so when it comes to dealing with children. Chiropractors (doctor of chiropractic care) use a drug free hands-on approach when it comes to addressing any issue, and the care that is provides comprises of examination and diagnosis, followed by treatment.
While a normal chiropractor has to go through a four year graduate program after the undergrad education, a chiropractor who deals with paediatric care has to go through additional training.

When it comes to treating your child, the first thing that a chiropractor would do is go through your child’s medical history. The spine’s physical examination would follow. Making adjustments is the spines of young children require very gentle pressure to make corrections. There are instances when one can hear a popping sound when these adjustments are being made, but this is only normal and not indicative of any problem.
Chiropractic care is also very important in instances when children are involved in road accidents and come out of them seemingly unhurt. Consulting a chiropractor in such as instance will rule out any whiplash injury, injuries which do not necessarily show up at the time of the accident, and injuries which can manifest till six months after the actual accident.
Remember that consulting a chiropractor for treating your child is something that you should think about, especially if you haven’t found relief even after consulting mainstream doctors and specialists. In fact, there are many members of the medical fraternity who suggest chiropractic care to many of their patients, and if you are looking for a Lawrenceville chiropractor

Help answer the question about chiropractor
Do you think seeing a chiropractor will help with my headache?
I've been having really bad, splitting headaches recently. I had no idea what was causing them at first, but now I think it might be because my neck and shoulders are so tense. I've rubbed the back of my neck a little bit and it seems to help the headache dissolve. But I'm not sure if that's just a placebo or if it really helped.

What do you think? Would a visit to the chiropractor help?

Most Americans head to their medicine cabinet or their primary care physician when they experience pain and discomfort. Recurring headaches, arthritis, injuries sustained in car accidents can be relieved temporarily. But don’t you want more? If so, schedule an appointment with a local chiropractor.

What then is the advantage of going to a chiropractor over those primary care physicians and over-the-counter pain relievers? The great advantage is that chiropractors use and live by with natural medical care. This doesn’t mean they do not use high-tech equipments to diagnose a problem though, they still uses x-rays and MRIs. Performing alignments and adjustments is what the chiropractors usually do. It is called precision force. The force is used with hands to press joints into the proper position. Many people are becoming more mobile and feeling really relieved after a session.

Here are some ways:

A standard internet search. When performing a standard internet search, search with your city and state. You will be linked to a number of websites. Some of which are directories, where many chiropractors are listed. What you want to look for is chiropractor websites.

Business directories online are also available. You can use them too to find a chiropractor within your area by typing in your exact city and state, or also chiropractors not in your area but very near by searching to nearby communities. Here’s an example: From the main heading of Yahoo, go to “Local” and then type in your city and state, if you want to just view those offering chiropractic service in your city. You can also type in the cities nearby so you’ll see list of chiropractors located in there too. Your search terms or phrase can be: “chiropractor,” “chiropractic care,” or “chiropractic service.”

Usually all the services accredited by your provider are listed on their brochure or manual. Some providers though identify chiropractic care as an alternative medicine, but many are now considering its benefits.

Recommendations from those you know. Since many Americans, insurance providers, and employers are now embracing chiropractic care and realizing the many advantages, its popularity continues to increase. You may know someone who has seen or uses the services of a chiropractor. Ask those that you know, such as friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors. Ask for the name, address, and phone number. Be sure to ask for feedback too. Our acquaintances are reliable informants with regard to professionalism, among other things.

Obviously, there are plenty of ways to locate and get chiropractic care within or near your area. In fact, it’s much more easier to look for a chiropractic service than finding your door keys at the back of your car or bag full of goodies, right? Well, you have have to be familiar with all the options listed here, then you’re on your way to choose a service that suit you best. Remember, in choosing a chiropractor, choose the one with great feedback, reputation and affordable fees.

There you have it, the ways to look for local chiropractors. You can find more info about chiropractic service at mydiscoverchiropractic.com.

Help answer the question about chiropractor
Should going to a chiropractor eventually pretty much cure you?
I've had back problems for 1 1/2 years. My chiropractor has helped me ALOT but now when I have an adjustment, only a few days later the back of my head aches, which triggers a headache. After an adjustment I feel great but it only last 2 or 3 days. Is it time to try a new approach? Is there anything else to help me? Maybe massage or physio? I do exercises daily that my chiropractor gives me too.

When it comes to marketing a chiropractor practice, the best results will come from implementing a consistent system for predictable results. You will have to do a certain amount of things to be able to get yourself customers and as a chiropractor, you will want to start marketing your practice in the best ways possible. If you can, starting it before you actually open the business could prove beneficial. You want to be able to be successful with your business, so getting customers in the door is vital to your success.

What Are The Best Ways To Reach Out?

You will need to stimulate referrals every week, and you will need to implement a system that will get new customers to you. This could be a special deal for people who send other people to your business or you could offer some free time with you or some time off with the business. This will get more people to your business and can be considered a key point in chiropractor marketing. You have to make sure that you can get new patients every week until you have the appropriate number of customers, as good chiropractor marketing will be designed with that in mind.

You will need to be able to accommodate your business for the new patients that are coming to it so make sure you have the appropriate time and items needed to keep up with the steady increase of customers. The more customers you have, the better your business will do. With good chiropractor marketing, you will realize that these people are the potential for even more customers. Keep in mind there may be things you will have to do in the future to balance out the increase, and one such thing may be adding on to the business or moving the business to another spot.

If you want to look reputable as a chiropractor, one chiropractor marketing strategy would be to add a research-based patient education program. This way you can give your patients the proper information to keep them in better shape with their bodies. Having this educational program, at least once a month can be a real benefit to getting more customers to your business.

Another important chiropractor marketing strategy is to try to get your patients to pay willingly with cash, as this keeps the money up-to-date. You will not have to wait for additional money to be in your account so you also will not have to worry about extra bills that are charged in fees with credit cards. Insurance companies take a while to pay, therefore the best option out there is cash.

With a good chiropractor marketing strategy, your staff will handle and track the referrals that are going through your business for you. You cannot do everything, so give some of the load to someone else that is in the business and make sure you remember what your purpose is and be enthusiastic to your customers every day. This will make them like you personally, and they will feel connected with you and will keep coming back.

A chiropractor college offers many different challenges for people wishing to get into that field. Many colleges have very high academic standards and expand their offerings for education. A good chiropractor college will put emphasis on strong educational preparation and clinical training in the chiropractor field. The clinical training allows the graduate to realize how successful they can be in a solo practice.

Students are offered an outstanding education at a chiropractor college, and there is high level of excellence. A good chiropractor college will mentor the student with practicing doctors, familiar with every aspect of chiropractic medicine. They will learn chiropractic care, and be enthusiastic in their practice. The curriculum continually grows and teaches the science, art and philosophy that a chiropractor needs to know. Another benefit to a good chiropractor college is that it offers two masters degree programs that help to prepare the student for professional practice as licensed acupuncturists as well. The student should leave feeling competent and confident as a practitioner with an understanding of theoretical concepts. The students will learn by doing, and will integrate theory with practice while working closely with educated and experienced practitioners.

In the end, a good chiropractor college will provide students with all the training and skills that are needed to help alleviate pain maintain wellness and establish a successful and fulfilling career. There should be high standards at a chiropractor college to help bring out the full potential of the student. The instructors will be highly involved and should offer hands-on training. There should be reputable doctors of chiropractic medicine in the program, and there should be new academic choices in acupuncture as it is often used hand in hand with chiropractic medicine. Research and internship opportunities should be available for the students. These areas should help to bring out the students highest potential, as this is one of the goals of a good chiropractor college. When the student graduates, they should be able to run a profitable practice.

You’ve just been rear-ended. Your heart is pounding, your hands are shaking, and you’re not sure what just happened. What do you do next? Should you call the police? Get your insurance company on the phone? Call the hotline that you’ve seen advertised on billboards and television?

Your first call should be to the police to report the <a rel=”external nofollow” target=”_blank” href=”http://www.ocalawhiplashcare.com”> accident </a&gt;. An officer will arrive at the scene to take statements, assess the damage, and determine who was at fault and write any necessary citations. If you are having difficulty breathing, experiencing blurred vision, double vision, nausea, difficulty moving your arms and legs or suspect you may have any broken bones, request to be taken the the emergency room. Otherwise, your first call needs to be to a qualified chiropractic physician.

Why should you trust a <a rel=”external nofollow” target=”_blank” href=”http://www.ocalaimed.com”> chiropractor </a> to diagnose and treat injuries from an auto accident? Most chiropractors focus on musculoskeletal injuries like neck pain, back pain, headaches, sciatica, disc herniations, and whiplash. As a result they are extensively trained in determining what diagnostic testing is necessary, and if your pain requires a consultation from a specialist such as an orthopedist or neurologist. A chiropractor determine the type and severity of your injuries, and how they can be best treated.

It is common for chiropractors to use a combination of therapies to help heal the injuries from your car accident. In addition to gentle chiropractic adjustments, therapies such as acupuncture, massage, electric muscle stimulation, rehab exercises, and spinal decompression are also very common modalities used.

You will also want to make sure that your chiropractor is comfortable working with personal injury attorneys. Not every auto accident case requires the guidance of an attorney, but if yours does it is critical that your doctors and lawyer are on the same page. Ask your chiropractor if they have experience working with attorneys, writing narrative reports, or performing impairment ratings. This is where your doctor can make or break your personal injury case. For this reason, many family doctors won’t even see patients who have been in a car accident- they don’t want the hassle of dealing with auto insurance companies and personal injury attorneys.

So if you’ve recently been in an auto accident and are experiencing common symptoms such as neck pain, whiplash, numbness in the arms or legs, back pain, headaches, or difficulty concentrating, immediately consult with a qualified chiropractor who can help your recovery.
